Tycho is always around to try and keep Gabe in reality. Also, any man who drinks microbrews and argues Proust is pretty awesome to be around. Well, for at least a few minutes. That’s okay, Tycho has other things going for him.
He has a secret obsession with Harry Potter.
Well, it might be less than secret nowadays.
Tycho has a number of very strong opinions about such topics as science fiction,
Game store policies,
And the definition of “clothes”.
That’s Brenna, by the way, Tycho’s awesome wife. She puts up with a lot from Tycho and still gives him little geeks in training to play with.
That’s quite a woman!
Tycho has his interesting moments as well. Apparently, even though we know just how awesome his vocabulary is, Tycho likes much simpler words when at dinner with Gabe’s parents.
Anyway. You’ve seen a number of different sides of Tycho today. The sports-hating side, the wizard-wanna-be side, and the burning-down-the-game-store side. However, I want to leave with just one, final side of one half of the incredible awesomeness that is Penny Arcade.
If you’re going to PAX, don’t forget to tell Tycho how awesome he is!

Oh, man–that Wingardium Leviosa strip. I had a friend in college who was a closet Harry Potter nerd, and once while he was really wasted at a party he started doing HP impressions. I got a video on my phone of him casting “Wingardium Leviosa” and delighted in showing it to everyone else when he wasn’t paying attention. That PA strip was up a few weeks later, and we laughed until we cried. (He actually had similar feelings to Tycho’s regarding the Dune universe, too [I hear people saying Duniverse? Is that…is that okay?], so maybe he’s secretly sending them ideas or something. I don’t know. It kind of worries me.)
Thank you for sharing these! I love Tycho and never really get a chance to go through their archives and remember the strips that I loved.

Your friend sounds great! I never got into HP, but I was always amused at my friends who did. Another favorite of mine was people who used Expecto Petronus on a far-too-regular basis!
